DESIGN CONCEPT    :  Tropical

HOUSE PLAN DESCRIPTION     :  The design approach and façade of the bungalow adapt a combination of tropical concept with distinctive and unique elements from Traditional Malay House. The space planning emphasizes on the privacy aspect, also the effectiveness and practicality of the spaces. 2 bays of covered car porch and another 2 bays of open car porch are provided for the guests and family members. Fish pond and water elements greet the guests at reception hall before entering the living area. Living and dining areas are separated from one another. The living area with the size of 17’ x 15’, can be used for various activities and when combined with the verandah (12’ x 15’) by opening a sliding door, the space becomes bigger. Dining and dry kitchen are combined together using an ‘open kitchen’ concept to create a more spacious area. A sliding door is provided which connects dining area and verandah 2. Wet kitchen is separated from the dry kitchen. A drying yard is provided inside the house so that the housewives do not have to come out from their houses to do the laundry and drying the clothes. This will also ensure their safety. Utility room is also provided. Family area is located closely to all the rooms and should the need for a larger spaces arises. The owner can combine family area with the wardrobe by just opening a sliding door which connects the two spaces together. Master bedroom and family area share the same view towards the fish pond and occupants can monitor all activities going on outside of the house. A prayer room/ utility is provided for the family members and guests to use.


SPECIAL HOME DESIGN     :  The main floor slabs of the bungalow are raised 2 feet (0.6m) from the ground which makes this bungalow design suitable for low land areas. 2 verandahs are provided for the family members and guests to conduct their outdoor activities. Utility room can also be converted into a prayer room. A special wardrobe is designed at the center of the house which will become the main storage for all the clothings. Living is separated from dining area. However, dining and dry kitchen are combined together using an ‘open kitchen’ concept. Wet and dry kitchens are separated from each other. Drying yard is provided inside the house, where as the store is located near to the wet kitchen and utility room.
